Hello world!
Apologies to all for my lack of whereabouts via the inter-webs. I have been busy preparing for my move from Phoenix to Portland (to study naturopathic medicine and bask in the beauty that engulfs Oregon) and so my mind has been elsewhere!
Let me just tell everyone how pleased I am with my dentist (Dr. Kevin Mueller in Sun City West, AZ) that introduced me to Dr. Singh's appliance! Deciding whether or not to try the DNA appliance was quite the leap of faith and I do not suggest it for those that have the "need it now" mentality, as wearing the appliance takes patience and dedication. It has been almost 2 years wearing the appliance off and on (the off-period times consisted of my dentist sending the appliance back to Dr. Singh's lab for reconfiguration). The dedication does pay off though and while I may not have the "Hollywood smile", the facial definition the DNA has given me has blown me away.
I must divulge my own theories now as to why my facial structure has shifted so dramatically. I began natural desiccated thyroid about 5 months prior to beginning the appliance and while that can have its own dramatic appearance changes, I still owe my wider smile and cheekbone enhancement to the appliance.
Behold! Before and after photos:)
The above is 2011, pre-appliance, and the bottom is from today, February 2013.

Update
Hello all!
It has been 5 months since my last post and I sincerely apologize. I have been wearing the DNA appliance this entire time and the experience has been rather interesting, but very rewarding. As of 2 weeks ago, I have grown out of my DNA appliance because of the rapid expansion and it is currently at the lab being reconfigured to fit my newly widened mouth. Over the past 5 months the DNA has been pushing my teeth outwards, and now they have widened enough to where we can start pushing them forwards (using a splint (sp?)) so that I can have a more rounded smile instead of a triangular shape (which is what I have had my entire life).
Since the 5 months have passed, I have noticed major improvements to my facial bone structure. I have always had a very full, rounded, squishy-cheek, kind of face. Now after wearing the DNA for 5 months, my face is 10 times thinner and I have cheekbones. My entire jaw has slowly shifted forwards! This visual change has been more rewarding than I could ever have expected.
I cannot wait to get my appliance back and progress towards the smile of my dreams :-)
I will post some recent photos soon!

DNA Appliance Day 1 - 14
This is my first blogdiggity.
I wanted to document my journey of wearing the DNA appliance for the simple fact that I couldn't find many other bloggers out there who had done the same. So lets get into to it shall we...
Being that I work at an alternative medicine office, I was introduced to the DNA Appliance by doctor reference. Suffice to say, I have been waiting a while to find a natural way to shape my crooked, narrow mouth. Up until this point, I have only been to the dentist once in my life when I was 10years old for a teeth cleaning.
I have been wearing my appliance for about 2 weeks now. The first night I wore it I was amazed by how much I drooled. Every morning I would wake up and my teeth would be a bit achy. I have not been wearing the appliance in the early evening through bedtime like I have been wanting to just for the fact that once this sucker is in, there is no talking without sounding like you have a major lisp.
I have just now begun to notice the appliance to widen ever so slightly, so this has already pleased me greatly.
